Psychotherapy Research – in conjunction with the Psychoanalytic-Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Outpatient Clinic

With the update of the Psychotherapy Act in 2024, psychotherapy, psychotherapy research, and related training were academicized at public universities. The research group established for this purpose here at the Medical University of Graz focuses on the psychoanalytic-psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy. A central concern of our research group is the interplay between research, teaching, and clinical practice through interdisciplinary approaches.

The newly established Psychoanalytic-Psychodynamic Research and Teaching Outpatient Clinic is managed collaboratively by physicians and psychotherapists. Its work encompasses process research, effectiveness, diagnostics (OPD), and clinical research. Simultaneously, the clinic focuses on diversity-sensitive psychotherapy (research) and the integration of intersectional approaches.
