Psychologie

Psychotraumatology scientifically investigates the causes as well as the effects of various types of trauma. In consideration of the bio-psycho-social model, our research focus is placed on trauma and trauma-related disorders. This includes, in addition to psychological trauma, the bio-psycho-social effects of medical trauma on individuals, such as psychological trauma in connection with somatic illnesses, after accidents, after major medical interventions, and so on.

In addition, the research focus is on psychoanalytic-psychodynamic therapy for (complex) post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Topics such as resilience and post-traumatic growth also play a role in this research area.
